This award was given to one person on each campus for promoting education, school spirit, and civic responsibility to parents and students. I was awarded the Teacher of the Year award in 2000-01 and 2002-03. This award was given to the teacher with exemplary classroom practices and procedures that promoted student learning. In the spring of 2001, I was awarded the Rotory Club of The Woodlands Vocational Educator Award for Fall 2000 because of my work with the Interact Club, a high school civic organization. These awards are evidence that I am interested in student learning, growth, and development both in and out of the classroom. I practice the same student-centered strategies at SHSU.
